0xed? Strange title. Not if you know, that it is a hex editor!
Today I got a file which I could not open. The filetype was determined as a DMG file, but opening failed, that it does not contain mountable directories.
But before trying to rename to zip, rar, 7zip, gz and all the other archive types I just opened with the free Suavetech 0xed Hex editor.
It opened of course without any error message and I saw that file was filled by many zeroes, so there is no need to try to recover or repair the file – it’s easy said, corrupt.
I asked the creator to send it again to me, and all was working properly again.
