Growl

Growl will show you information directly on top of the screen when applications use its API. It is like a popup which just stays a few seconds and goes softly away.

I am using some other apps like Natsu Lion, Adium, Cyberduck who sometimes have instant information I want to keep track of. Let’s say I get a new Mail. Then Growl gives me short bubble showing the content.

It is fully configurable with sounds, skins, delay, stickyness and many more. And the best is, if you like you may have different settings for each application!

Wow! This is awesome where can I download it? I can image so many ways to implement this.

  3. The Growl version 1.2 is Snow Leopard compatible. Also the Mail-Growl extension is working again.
