Internet Explorer Tester
If you are programming or designing online content, then you always have the same problem as me:
Does the site look good and work on any browser?
The best way to find out, is of course to install all those browsers. In my opinion it is important to check at least the damn Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Opera. On the Mozilla engines almost everything works fine, because the interpret the W3C standards much better.
But the big difference is the damn Internet Explorer. You have to check for the versions, because 5.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 (beta) do all react different. Unfortunately, most people having a damn PC are using the damn Internet Explorer, because they are to noob or to lazy to install something better.
The next problem is, that you can not have multiple versions of the damn Internet Explorer installed on one Windows operating system.
For that instance I found a very nice free Windows tool called IE Tester. You can open a tab for the specified browser version and compare to others.
Lunascape is now released as beta and working very stable!
As a Macuser i had not tested yet Lunascape, but after your first impressions i wont test it this soon ;-)
Here my first impression:
When I try to switch the rendering engine, it crashes when any website is opened. So it is quite useless for me, yet. In that case I can open all the browsers as used before.
Lunascape 5 is still alpha, but it looks really promising. So I will give it another chance on the next update.
Thanks for that tip. How could it be possible I have never heard about this? Sadly, there is just a Windows editon. I am going to do a test install, right now!
I would recommend Lunascape: 3 Browser Engines in one: http://www.lunascape.tv
