Am currently running a Parallels 4 installation, but I thought of updating to Win7 which isn't supported. Would like to keep my old XP installation as a fallback tough, so I'll most likely have a look at this fine Sun product ;-)

Another fine way could be creating a real image with tools like Acronis True Image to the Host OS and get it back to the Guest OS, afterwards.

Get some piece of peace, Lasse! It is corrected, thanks!

It can read HDD-images of Parallels 3 and 4 (from my v5 it did not work out). Another idea I read anywhere is to use VMWare to convert Parallels images to OVF (open virtualization format).

For my way, I made a clean install.

Give peace a chance? From what I've pieced together, you do seem to like this piece of software ;-)

Is Virtual Box able to used the Parallels Image, or do I need to reinstall Windows?
